What Our Customers Say

What Our Customers Say About Our Italian Delicatessen

We proudly offer delicious Italian food to the Stamford & Norwalk, CT areas!

"True Italian Market! Many places around the country call themselves "Italian Markets", but from Los Angeles to D.C., I haven't found anything that comes close to Angelo's Specialties. Of course Angelo Specialties sells everything that you would expect from an Italian Store (e.g., proscuitto di Parma, cannollis, etc.), but you can also get fresh tomato sauce that is properly made, braciole, proscuitto bread, hot sopresetta, capicola, sausage & rapini, fried eggplant, dry sausage, sfogliatilla, etc., etc., etc. The people who work there are very friendly and professional. Mangia!"

"Legitimate Italian Deli. Great sandwiches and all sorts of crazy antipasti concoctions to try out. You can find frozen pasta dishes and little Italian novelties here and there. Don't come here too hungry, or you'll never be able to decide what you want. Everything is great!

Keep in mind there's no seating. It's a deli."
- Lisa W., Wilton, CT, 5-star Yelp Review

"AMAZING! My nana took me here today randomly. I had never heard of it, I usually go to Gaetano's in Westport which is delicious but Angelo's Specialties IS outstanding. I picked up lasagna, broccoli rabe and sausage, escarole and beans, and broccoli with garlic.

AMAZING! Fresh and absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back, so glad my nana found this gem"
- Arielle Z., Manhattan, NY

"Bellissimo! Spicy cap, pancetta, guanciale, San Marzano tomats and (frozen) sfogliatelle. Friendly, knowledgeable owners/staff made this hippie biker feel warm and appreciative. Their handmade mozzarella is best I've had - and I've had lots. Righteous store, good people, old school. Highly recommended."
- Ted S.

"Love this place. I like everything I've ever tried, but their Italian Sub is my favorite sandwich around and their lasagna is out of this world. I ordered a pan for a birthday party and everyone LOVED it. Amazing. I always bring my out-of-towners here too and they love it. Several of my neighbors use them to cater special occasions as well. Great food and great service."
- Deb S., New Cannaan, CT

"Great sandwiches and sausages. Prices are fair too."
- David R.

"After coming here multiple times I learned this place is way better than the Stamford & Fairfield locations. The mozzarella is amazing and just about everything else. Eat it. Love it. Be Italian."
- Mark P., Stamford, CT

"This place is the best - best service, best food, best everything. Nicest folks on the planet and dependable high-quality entrees. Grilled salmon is the entree we buy most often. I've never been disappointed by A & S."
- Susan K., New Canaan, CT

"Moved here from ny this past year, and i have to say its the closest thing to Arthur Ave in all CT! ...Authentic Italian brands and freshly made food. Not to mention the smell when u walk in, YUMM.. Very well done. Will definitely be back soon"
- Jim M., Norwalk, CT, 5-star Yelp Review

"They are quality, they are family. If you want the best gourmet Italian meats, cheeses, and everything in between, Angelo's Specialties is the only place to go!"
- Jamie S.

"Angelo's Specialties catered my wedding in July 2009. Albert (the owner) was AWESOME. He really paid attention to details, and worked with us the whole way through the planning process. He kept in touch and stayed on top of everything. He also organized virtually all of the other vendors that we would need-- tables, silverware, linens, beer/wine/soda, the wedding cake (Angelo's Specialties uses DiMare)-- which was a huge load off our minds. The servers the day of were also extremely attentive and took care of everything from start to finish. The food, of course, was great-- we got many compliments on it. I would highly recommend Angelo's Specialties for any event, large or small, that requires catering. Albert made the planning as stress-free as possible-- AND no detail was overlooked! Okay, I'll stop gushing now.

And, they also have great sandwiches and takeout foods in the deli."

"Best Italian specialty store in all of Connecticut."
- Jo-Ann D.

"A little bit of Arthur Avenue in Norwalk CT. Authentic Italian deli, with store-made specialties including the mozzarella, daily fresh bread, plenty of imports. You won't be disappointed."
- Ken L., Norwalk, CT

"Angelo's Specialties makes some of the best sandwiches around. They use only top quality meats and cheeses and have great pasta salad and anitpasto options. The service is always good and friendly and you never have to wait long. The prices are very reasonable and this is a great deli. I go at least once per week to Angelo's Specialties and have never had a bad experience."
- Brendan C., Wilton, CT, 5-star Yelp Review

"As good as you can get when it comes to a deli. This is a place you can come and get a great sandwich while you make arrangements for them to cater your next big event.

Great options for quick meals/healthy food/antipasti/meats and sausages. Make sure you don't wait till closing time for a sandwich because their rolls/subs will be gone.........that's how you know the sandwiches are good.

Al and Jack are two great guys who never stop working so if catering is on your mind, ask for them because you can relax knowing they will not disappoint. The staff is always helpful and once they recognize you on your second trip(cause you will make one) they'll never forget.

Try the chicken parm!"
- Dan D., 5-star Yelp Review

"I stop in this plaza often when i am in the area - for my favorite bagels down here from Liz Sue II (and their interesting bagel pizza if you are lucky enough to buy it before they sell out) .. one day i stopped in to check out this Italian deli and i have been back many times.

They have a great selection of cheese and fresh pasta and all the other things you would expect from a great local italian deli."
- Ronald S., Middletown, CT

"I am biased. I worked there for maybe 8 mos part time. Hated leaving. Carmine gives employees free lunch! I cut meat there and amazed as to how much product they go through in the kitchen. 60-80 LBS OF CHICKEN A DAY. Breads are the best. Try the prosciutto bread. Never seen or tasted anything like it. Ok so sausage. I have worked in small stores and made sausage all my life. This to me is the freshest i have ever made and ate. They only use FRESH pork butt. No crappy left over pork chops or pieces. Then hand seasoned with fresh spices no premade mixes or preservatives. NONE. Then stuffed hydraulically meaning no heat generated from the grinder. Ever see fatty looking sausage? Usually because of fat getting emulsified from heat of grinder . Then if that's not enough, each link is HAND TIED INTO FORTY LB ROPES. aproxx. They make several small batches throughout the week. No preservatives."

"If you want the best Arthur Avenue bread, best baked goods, and best food in general, YOU MUST GO THERE!! The level of the food and the sandwiches are SECOND TO NONE!! Where else can you get so much on a sandwich at such an amazingly low price. Not to mention, Carmine and Sal are the nicest people too! Go there! You will not be sorry. They offer catering too..."

"When you're there you want to take everything home. The sandwiches are amazing. Fresh coldcuts, fresh bread... everything is fantastic. The prepared meals are fantastic as well - chicken parm, eggplant parm, eggplant rolentinni.

Angelo's Specialties also makes it's own homemade pastas, sauce and mozzarella cheese. They also have a find selection of homemade ravioli's and other frozen pastas (gnocchi, cavatelli etc.)

If you come from NY or NJ area and are looking for an authentic Italian deli, this is the place to go, there's nothing else like it in CT!"

"The food here is excellent! Quality rolls, sandwiches made to go. I highly recommend the Godfather, a fried eggplant sandwich with balsamic vinaigrette, fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, roasted peppers, and for an added kick, ask for their pesto, or fresh basil and/or arugula.

Great service, and great selection."
